Broa
Broa (Corn bread), is a very old recipe traditionally made in Portugal, Galicia and Brazil. In Portugal, the designation of this type of bread depends on the region of the country – in the North, the term broa is used for bread made with corn or rye, and in the South it was adopted the word pão (bread), a term derived from latin panis.
To make it you will need to mix corn flour and wheat flour, or corn, wheat and also rye flours, and then you just need to add water and yeast. Until a few years ago, the ‘broa’ had a bad connotation from the Middle Age that the people who eat that were considered poor, contrasting with wealth people that ate the white bread (that comes from wheat).
Personally, I really like it, usually I eat it with olive oil during the lunch time!
