Getting to know the new European Voluntary Service Team: Patricia
Hey everyone! Here is Eduard Nastase and today I’d like to introduce Patricia! She’s a Slovak member of the new European Voluntary Service team and also a member of Youth4Sport 2 team. I thought the best way to find more infos about Patricia was to do a short interview. So let’s get started!
– How did you find out about European Voluntary Service (EVS), Patricia?
– I finished the master degree at University of Economics, Bratislava in September 2017 and after that I had not much working experience so I started to look for a project with a suitable topic. I found the EVS program and I was sure that I wanted to take part in this program.
– Did you have any specific countries where you wanted to go?
– Honestly, I wanted to go to Spain because I speak spanish. On the other hand, I focussed more on topic of the project and this is why I have decided to go to Cyprus. I have to say that Nicosia is an amazing city and Cyprus is an amazing island.
– How did you find the Youth 4 Sport 2 EVS?
– I found the opportunity to spent 6 months in Cyprus with a perfect topic at the Association for Development, Education and Labour (ADEL). Immediately sent my CV and cover letter and few days later I received an email who let me know that I have been accepted for the first interview.
– What is your impression after 2 months in Nicosia?
– In my opinion, first weeks were really difficult and everything was new for me. New people, new service, new places. After 2 months, I feel like home in Lefkosia at Nautilos SAR. I`m getting to know the city better and better, I like the people I spend time with, we are really a nice group and I like to work with other EVS young people. I am a member of Youth 4 Sports 2 team and we organize weekly events. If you are interested, you are all invited and also I`d recommend you to like and follow our facebook page “Nautilos SAR” for more informations about future events.
– What was the best moment you have spent here?
– It is not easy to answer to this question and say which one is the best moment because I have many. One of them is the Christmas dinner because I really enjoyed spending Christmas time with other EVS people. We had a great international Christmas dinner and I have learned a lot about different traditions of other countries.
– What is was the less pleasant moment spent here?
– It is the fact that I miss my family. I have two younger brothers and I would like to see them soon.
