Ζορπάς (Zorbas)
Hello Guys!
Welcome back for another episode of my adventures in Cyprus! Today we are staying at Nicosia for a culinary experience 😊
Do you know FFF?
Well, France is known all around the world for Fashion, Football and Food! Indeed, French Cuisine is one of the best!
Before coming in Cyprus, I was reading articles and for most of French students, eating good bread like French baguette was something they really miss! So, I imagined the worst about Cyprus bakery. And guess what? I was totally wrong. Now let me share with you my experience at Zorbas Bakery!
First thing first, Zorbas Bakery is something very common here in Nicosia. You find one in every corner! I have identified at least two bakeries near the Nautilos Youth Centre. I was very intrigued and if you are a regular reader, you should know that I have made my researches to understand the how and the why!
So, Zorbas Bakery was created in 1975 by Andres Zorbas in Athienou. In 1988 they came in the province of Nicosia. It is part of the Zorbas & sons Limited Company. This company went public in 2000 and is listed on the Cyprus Stock Market.
The most surprising thing is that they have opened store in New York under the name the French Workshop! It is a French artisan bakery featuring an assortment of Pralina Confectioneries desserts, traditional French breads, pastries and cakes. All ingredients of high quality and freshness. An innovative concept, with comfortable atmosphere and artistic interior design that consumers welcomed warmly and enthusiastically.
Now let me share with you my experience at Zorbas Bakery!
Then, for my birthday on January, I receive a cake from that Bakery. It was a chocolate cake very tasty and refined! Two weeks ago, Chloe, my friend, invites me to her birthday party and guess what? They offer her a cake from Pralina the other brand of the Zorbas Company. Honestly it was so good!

Yesterday, I have tried two mini sweets: a mini éclair and a strawberry tartlet! I was a little bit disappointed by the mini éclair only because I expected chocolate inside and not a vanilla cream. Nevertheless, it was very good, not too sweet just perfect! The strawberry tartlet was good, fresh fruit and a light vanilla cream!

Zorbas Bakery is very atypical! In Martinique, the bakeries are not arranged like this! It is not open like this! Plus, they sell only bread you will not find yoghurts or milk in ours. So, this is a very good aspect of living abroad! It gives you a different approach to a lot of things!

Therefore, I suggest you Zorbas! You will find a lot of variety of bread, cakes etc. I am not a bread lover and I have to say that I have tested the multigrain bread and I did not like it. However, I have bought recently whole bread and it is better! So, do not hesitate to test different things!
See you soon!
Xoxo.
