Today we keep going with the exploration of Strovolos. Costas Theodorou Shopping Center is the place that I have visited on January 27^th. Let’s go!

At first sight, this shopping center did not seem interesting. A modern building, some winter sales offers, αυτό είναι. However, my inner voice was telling me: “Come in! you will not be disappointed”

Thanks to my Grandmother Yolande, I have developed an interest in art and history! My grandmother always encouraged my cousins and me to express our creativity by drawings or creating things…

Back to our topic, well my inner voice was right. I was so happy when I found the exhibition linked to the history of that company Costas Theodorou. It was the first time that I have seen something like this. Dedicate a corner of your shop for the culture of your enterprise is very great. Even if the explanations were in Greek, thanks to the pieces you understand the meaning and the purpose of Costas Theodorou better.

Their story starts in 1943 and actually this is the biggest trading company in Cyprus specialized in leather and travel goods. It was amazing to look at all these goods from the past. I was speechless with sprinkles in my eyes. Leather goods do not age in my opinion.

What I like the most about art is the process. It starts by an idea that you draw on a paper. Then you pursue with the choice of the materials. Steps by steps, little by little, your imagination came to live. This is why even if I do not like everything in Fashion and Leather Goods, I respect everyone’s art.

For me, art has nothing intellectual, it is more primitive. It talks to your emotions. Art is the expression of things that you cannot express with words. Art is an opportunity to open your mind, to testify even to stand up for your rights. Art is life!

Therefore, I really enjoyed that exhibition. The shop is like a small museum. It reminds me of good memories. I can say that it was kind of a life lesson too. We as individuals, tend to judge things too quickly. It is very important nowadays to listen to our inner voice. Follow your gut and you will find happiness! As the most evolved species on Earth, we are able to create, to inherit our values to our children…
