Cityfields

Hello everyone! How are you doing?

Welcome back for another post about my adventures in Cyprus. Today we stay at Nicosia, most precisely in the suborn of Strovolos.

If you are a regular reader, you should know that Sports and Arts are one of my passions. It is always a pleasure for me to discover places related to them. So, thanks to google maps, I have noticed that there is a football field not far away from the Nautilos Youth Centre where I live and work.

Football, one of my favourite game to watch! Yes, he may be surprising because I am a woman! In general, women are not into “masculine” sports. Hold on! Wait a minute. I have something to tell you. Did you know that one of the best feminine football players was from Martinique? Her name is Wendy Renard. She plays for the National team!

So, get back to our topic, Football or Soccer for the US. Football is a game that I really like. Indeed, it is a team game where everyone has its speciality. It is also a game for federate people, fight for your rights. Unfortunately, racism against black people is more prominent in that game. I will never forget the way they treated Mario Botelli in Italy. The supporters were doing some monkeys yells. Or calling him with a bad surname. In France, Lilian Thuram, he was part of the National France Team that has won the World Cup in 1998, is very active to change the mentality and some famous songs used in that game through supporters.

Yes, as you can see, I am very into that game! Well, if you want to know more about the backstages of a football club, I have a suggestion for you. Watch Club the Cuervos on Netflix. Not only you will improve your Spanish, but you will have a better idea of that whole industry.

I had the opportunity to explore Cityfields in Strovolos for my Imap activity. When I have seen the location on Google Maps, I was very excited to see grass. I portrayed a lot of thing in my head. What a surprise when I get there. Honestly, it is a charming place, but it had nothing to do with my imagination. Cityfields is mostly synthetic grass. You have 3 fields. You can book them online or in person and enjoy a very good time with friends and family.

Now, let me share with you my opinion about Cityfields. Well, it is a very good place when you are a parent! The place contains a very well-arranged cafeteria. You can enjoy a coffee, eat a snack while your progeniture is doing some activities. It is very well located; the Mall of Cyprus is not so far away. You have also several shops in the area.

Plus, when you look at the salaries of famous football players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian M’bappé, Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique…It is a very good return on investment if your child likes Football. I do understand parents who encourage their child in studying but I believe that combine both (studies and sports) is a better choice.

Mens sana in corpore sano in other words healthy mind, healthy body. I encourage you to do every activity that you like for this new year!
