Back again pt.2
So, after 2 months here I am back again with the continue of my experience in Aya Napa!
Last time I tale you about my hiking/fishing trip in Cape Greco. Spent half of the day walking and fishing. The atmosphere was very nice, amazing landscapes, scenes and smells…
So the day was about to end, I met this two guys and I was going to fish with them for 2 more hours. We got in the car and went 7km forward, in the location of Paralimni, at the edge of the gulf.
There were no fishes that evening, or at least we caught none. When it got dark we changed the fishing lures to catch squids but we catched none again :/
It was now pitch dark, was about 21:00 and the weather was getting very cloudy, windy and there were huge thunders.
We picked up our stuff and went back to the car.
Now everything was very difficult: I had to find a spot where I could put my tent but with the rain incoming and with pitch back, we couldn’t find any quickly…
A. then drove to the city center of Ayia Napa. I told him I could find a spot near the Sea Caves but he later had an idea about where I could place a tent…
He drove me to a church in the city of Ayia Napa. It had a gazebo outside where I could have place my tent but it was destroyed and there was no cover from the rain…
A. has another place to check.
A., the guy that I met in Cape Greco, was working in a church in Ayia Napa as workman. He knew those places very well.
We check then the second church. This was the one where A. was working.
We get down the car and walks to the back of the church until we reach a little sanctuary dug into the rock. We enter.
It was very small but clean and covered. It had a door and even some mats where I slept on.
A. tells me that at 7:30 in the morning the kids from the school were going to go to the church so I could have slept there but before that time, I had to pack everything and go. I can understand he was worried about his working position so I did what he told me.
I greet him with an hug and we exchange the numbers just to get in contact in the future.
It is time to set my tent, but actually there was no need: I was fully covered, the place was enough warm and dry. I put the mats together, place the sleeping bag and try to sleep.
Dears, it wasn’t my first time sleeping almost on the ground (once I slept just on a carpet, don’t ask my more :p) and despite the mats, it was very hard! I finally end up sleeping 7 intermittent hours and when is morning I pack everything and leave.
It was an amazing experience. I wouldn’t say it was full of adventure but I enjoyed it very much.
Call it luck, or call it law of attraction I am really glad of everything…I would do it again probably!
Hope you enjoyed my story or that it may have stimulated you to search for some adventure.
Thank you for reading, bye bye for now 🙂
