Back again!
Sooo, after 3 months here it is my second, very teased, EVS BLOG!
Back again from where? Well, I just came back from Ayia Napa this morning and I’m also back with my EVS blogssss 😀 hope to tale you some good experiences boys (and girls 😉 )
So as you may noticed I’m cool today, and probably because of the very nice experience I lived yesterday.
LOOK, I have a thing for fishing. I LOVE the sea and here in Cyprus is just perfect (when it is not wavey obv) so fishing here for me is just a must.
Bought a fishing rod, wheel and some fishing baits I embraced myself and went to Ayia Napa for a 24h fishing holy-day (1st of April) !
It is worth saying that here in Cyprus the viability is not really the best: most of the citizens own at least one car and they use it to move around the island, from the city to working place. Trains are not even a solution given the small dimension of the island (does New Zeland have train rails?), so in the past 15 years they implemented buses transportation and now they are quite good. Quite good? Yes because actually,at least until the end of April, the intercity buses stop to circulate AT 16:00!!!!
So I could NOT renounce to my very waited fishing day and I decided to sleep in my tent, somewhere between Ayia Napa and Cape Greco!
Long short brief story: went in A.Napa -. walked for 50 mins to realize that the sea was heavily WAVEY for fishing -> fished for 30 minutes -> decided to move looking for calmer spots forward -> FAILED.
I was sad. My fishing day was about to not even start…I could only try to look for some spots after Cape Greco, and I did it.
I walked a lot, the bag was starting to be heavy after all that kilometers but I did it! I went to Cape Greco and on the South East side the sea was HOLY FLAT! It was like paradise!

And after a bit of fishing, here it is my first Cypriot fish!!!

At that point you may say, ok you fished but now what?
Yea, now the great challenge was finding a good spot to place my tent. With *GOOD* I mean a place where nobody can see my tent, ’cause is not perfectly allowed to place your tent wherever you want in CY… so I moved towards Paralimni.
Hope you are not boring because now the best comes up!
I found the fishermen and asked if they new some places here where to camp, but they didn’t and they actually told me that in Cape Greco it is NOT allowed to fish. WTF?! They were fishing but said that it was illegal in the same area!!

I moved on, thinking about that.
After 200 meters there is a very nice landscape point of the Blue Lagoon in C.Greco and even there I found 2 fishermen.
I didn’t wait too much before questioning them about the fishing BAN.
Short answer: they didn’t know and they offered me a ride with the car to go fishing 8km away from the Blue Lagoon with them. I ACCEPTED.
This is the first part of the story.
The second part will come next week but for the moment I advance you this: IT WAS ABOUT TO RAIN, I DIDN’T HAVE ANY SPOT TO CAMP, I WAS VERY FAR AWAY FROM THE BUS STATION (that I had to reach early in the next morning) and I WAS WITH TWO PERFECT STRANGERS 😉
Hope you enjoyed it!
See you for the next part, have a nice one 😉
