Cleaning the environment
Last weekend as you may know if you pay much attention to our OTI Media Facebook page, as you should, you’d know we organized an event of cleaning Athalassa Forest Park. A super giant forest park with a pretty lake and different types of trees. A very nice one for having a picnic, riding your bycicle or simply have a relaxed day with the nature with 840 hectares of area. You can also visit the botanic gardens which are very pretty and you shouldn’t miss it.
We woke up early and started heading towards the park. We went there about three hours with the aim of cleaning the park, especially the places where is near the road. And weren’t we right. That one is the place with most trash on the floor because of the people on the cars throwing their plastics onto the forest.
This types of event make me feel sad about how humanity is, not caring about the environment and just getting rid of their trash not wanting to know how harmful it can be for the planet and all the living beings in it.
A fun not so fun fact is that they don’t even care about themselves, because as many things in life, plastic and trash as it’s way to come back to the person who throwed it through food or polluted air for exemple. But even that, doesn’t seem to stop them.
At the same time, I feel very happy on contributing for a better place among other really nice and concerned people, even if it’s just a small help, any help is a help and we have to start with any resources we have, so one day the help can manifest in a bigger way.
Our planet has achieved a path on global warming where it is asking everyday for our help and because us humans don’t do that much to turn the situation around, the problem can get even more serious in a few years, even though it can still have a point of return. Because of still having that hope, we should be more thoughtful about our planet and it’s conditions of living of the reason we are just visitors here
I decided to have a more vegetal base diet, and start little by little introducing some things to my daily life such as not wearing much plastic and replace it with more bio, organic vegan things such as metal box lunches, metal water bottle, reusable straws, bambu tooth paste, conserve water and electricity and transform some “trash” plastic I have to other things.
These are some of the many ideas we can contribute. Remember, you are just one person but words and ideas can change the world. You are importante and so our home Earth, also is.
And if you are interested in learning more, today we are going to have na event of showing the documentary “Plastic Paradise: The great pacific garbage” and next a workshop on how we can help with little things.
