Omeriye Mosque

As I wandering in old Nicosia I got lost in the streets. But when I got lost somewhere usually I do it on purpose. You, see I am that kind of person, wandering – discovering and no matter how small is Nicosia, is full of surprises and new things appears to discover them. Yeah, I love it.

So, I  wandered I heard some children’s laughs, it was so sweet because some images from my childhood came to my mind and then I saw a mosque, the children’s laughs came from the Omeriye mosque. I got closer almost inside the mosque to see how it was… Some men were sitting reading their korani probably and the children were playing a game with a ball. The place’s atmosphere was so calm and relaxing that I almost adore it. It’s an old building with medieval architecture and some parts are almost abandoned with trashes conquest by trees. But nevermind.
