The Nicosia old aqueduct
Next to the Liberty Monument is the old aquaduct of Nicosia, which was built in 18th Century whilst Cyprus was under Ottoman control. It supplied water to the fountains of Nicosia and ran from the Kyrenia Gate to the Farmagusta Gate. Unfortunately at the time of writing it was surrounded by barriers, presumably as it’s not in the best of condition. But it’s an interesting piece of Nicosian history which is still standing in the old town.
