CYPRUS IS MORE THAN BEAUTIFUL BEACHES
Cyprus has a rich, multilayered history and culture. Nowhere is this more apparent than the capital Nicosia.
Visiting the capital may not be on the top of the “To Do” list for many of the island’s visitors. However, those who do peel themselves off the sun lounge will be rewarded with a fascinating city in the midst of a renaissance. In my opinion anyone who visits Nicosia doesn`t stay indifferent.
There have been many divided places throughout history but Nicosia remains the only divided capital in the world so as you can imagine Nicosia is a city full of history with a very welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. It is well worth visiting the city center when good energy hangs in the air.
There is a lot you can do in the center of nicosia. If you are passionate about history you can go to museums, for example the Museum of the History of Cypriot Coinage is a free one with a lot of historic information that you should visit.
If you go to the center of nicosia you are in the right place to taste typical Cypriot food. With the huge variety of good restaurants the problem will be to choose! The center of the city is also the ideal place to go shopping, you can find everything!
Since you are in Nicosia going to Ledra Street is a mandatory stop. Ledra Street is a major shopping thoroughfare in central Nicosia, which links North Nicosia, the part of the city under the control of the Northern Cyprus, and south Nicosia.
Since in Nicosia there is no beach whenever you want to refresh yourself, you can always have a beer or a cold juice in an incredible terrace!
I do not want to be a spoiler and reveal everything about the center of this incredible city but I promise you will not regret coming to Nicosia.
The capital of this island is waiting for you (:
