Paphos Gate
Located in the west side of the Venetian walls of Nicosia, and right next to the buffer zone, is the Paphos Gate. The gate now has a police station on top of it, but otherwise has been left almost as it was, with part of the old road, which led to Paphos ( who would have guessed?) still exposed.
Also the wooden gates themselves, although in a state of disrepair are still standing. If you’re interested in the history of Nicosia and want see a bit of it then it’s an interesting spot to visit, there are no signs next to it telling you about it or what it is. It stands there an obvious relic of the past which many ignore, as they take the new route into the old city, a few meter next to the old gate.
