Easter means EGGS!
Hello!
Because we are very close to the Easter, today I want to share with you my region traditions for these days of feast.
The game of Truc is an Easter tradition, of very old practice, consisting in preparing a basin of sloping sand with a characteristic oval structure, in which the colored eggs are brought down, following the codification of precise rules, with the intention of making them touch each other.
The use of the egg is a symbol of meaningful symbolism, as elected as a symbol of rebirth and therefore an Easter element par excellence.
The Truc has the characteristic of being peculiar only of Cividale, not being practiced elsewhere within the borders of Friuli and is strictly played only on Easter days, Easter Monday and, in some years, in the Eighth, that is the following Sunday the Resurrection.
While on the occasion of Good Friday, in the province of Pordenone, in Erto and Casso, the Easter rite is celebrated through the sacred representation of the Passion of Christ, a custom that originated in the second half of 1600 and recalls the medieval sacred drama.
